Because I was so busy with decorating client's homes and businesses this year, I had to seriously simplify my own holiday decor. One of the only days my husband and I were even at home was Christmas Day, but a little festivity is always necessary. We chose a small tabletop tree to put in our street-facing window, and decorated it with mini red and gold balls, white crocheted snowflakes, and a variety of lovely hand-pressed and hand-painted ornaments from Victoria Hoke Lane's new ornament collection (on sale to the public for the 2013 Holiday Season, I got a preview as I styled all of the pieces for the collection photos!). It wasn't our traditional fare, but perhaps we're starting new traditions. We had our favorite ornaments, and although most of our boxes of decor stayed in storage, it was fun to have a few touches of Christmas about the house. Now that I've taken everything down, the house feels a little forlorn. Ah well, I'm sure the next holiday season will be upon us before we know it!
