Brenda Walton is one of my design idols. She also happens to be a dear friend, in fact she knew me before I was born as she and my mother have been close friends for many, many years. Brenda designs stationery, gift cards, wrapping paper, stickers, scrapbooking paper, die-cuts, you name it! She is a talented illustrator and calligrapher, and she's going to be teaching a workshop here in Los Angeles in January called "Lovely Letters." She'll teach us calligraphic letterforms, and show us how to make personalized cards and envelopes, too! Every time I receive a package from Brenda, I squeal with delight- because I know it will not only be beautiful, but it will be packaged beautifully. I can't wait to learn some of Brenda's secrets at this workshop- won't you join me there?
You can read more about the workshop from Brenda herself on her blog, or just go sign up! The classes will take place at the charming French General store in Silverlake as part of their annual "Art of Craft" series. I really can't think of a better way to spend an early January Saturday afternoon than learning to make pretty things in such a lovely location. I hope to see you there!
