Laura and David are public defenders in New York City who came out to Cherry Valley, California for their wedding at Highland Springs Resort. They were such a fun, laid-back couple, and I absolutely loved the experience of designing for them. My goal with the floral decor was to play to the natural setting and the spring season, so the flowers included lavender, clematis, fern, dusty miller, succulents, garden roses, peonies, sweet peas, ranunculus, spray roses and passion vine. Among the lovely, personal details in this wedding: a simple birch chuppah adorned with floral nosegays and green moss, tree stumps lining the aisle way covered with carpets of moss and mason jars full of romantic floral arrangements, cocktail tables treated with fresh green moss, candles in mason jars, and lots of fragrant dried lavender, a floral head-wreath of thistle, waxflower and statchy for Laura's sister, Allison. The tented reception site held a mix of long feasting tables, square tables, and round tables. It felt very homey and relaxed, and I had such fun decorating each of the tables with assorted containers full of flowers, birdcages filled with moss and candles, birch tree slices, and little birdies that Laura had collected in the months leading up to the wedding. I am so grateful to have these beatiful pictures to look at... they bring back nothing but good memories. Laura and David, I love you two. I wish you all the best in your married life. xoxo
