for the mummies

I don't generally do one-off arrangements, but when my friend Lydia asked me to design something special for her mum, I couldn't say no.

Lydia's mum loves the color yellow, and is also fond of ranunculus, so I used yellow ranunculus and yellow cymbidium orchids with white tulips, scented geranium leaves, maidenhair fern and oregon fern.

I love how ranunculus seem to have a mind of their own. They look so different in their various stages of growth... little tight buds, layers upon layers of fabulous textural petals when they're open, and an almost poppy-like look when they're blown full open!
